Only in France
December 20, 2007
The French “joie de vivre” is well documented, and French women are also known for taking good care of their bodies. But I have to say that when I first heard about state subsidized “re-education” of a certain part of the female anatomy after giving birth, I could not believe it.
But believe me girls, it’s true……
Here is an article in the New York Times I read describing the phenomenon of making mothers “as good as new.”

Oh that is soo french! I was talking to a French mother the other day who told me that the reason the French have a low breastfeeding rate is because they don’t want to damage their breasts in any way!
And you really have to laugh at a government that encourages that sort of thinking! Hilarious!

vive la france!!
the program is brilliant, the article in the NYT too… the journalist who wrote it is Pamela Druckerman, the author of
“Lust in Translation: The Rules of Infidelity From Tokyo to Tennessee.” …I might buy this one!

Hmmm, I guess I could have used some re-education – not sure if I would feel very comfortable about the procedure though!!!
