Fall 2007 and fashionably pregnant

Now this post is not about a specific thing, it is a shout-out to the fashion of the fall and winter of 2007. Thank you Miuccia Prada, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs  for inspiring this fall’s fashion as there is still not a single maternity item hanging in my closet! (And I am 5 months pregnant)!
Every shop is stocked to the brim with lovely little baby doll dresses and tunic tops, that are nicely fitted on top and then trapeze out. This means that the features I am wanting to accentuate, (i.e. my momentarily nicely shaped boobies), are being well presented, while my ever-expanding waist line is disappearing under a few strategically placed layers of cloth.
Now the only thing I need is a nice pair of really skinny maternity jeans and my fashion happiness is complete. So if anyone knows where to pick up a pair, please let me know!

I never could find the perfect pregnancy skinny jean. Topshop claims to have them, (but NEVER in any small sizes), and all the other pregnancy jeans are still boot-cut (or really ugly)!
What I did was literally walk around in my (normal)skinny jeans with the buttons (and eventually the zipper) completely undone!
You could also ask Esther, because she made her own pregnancy jeans from a pair of regular skinny jeans. (And you have a sewing machine too, so this could be your answer)!

NOt that I ever looked for skinny jeans (even more so when pregnant) BUT they do sell them at http://www.seraphine.com, and as Courtney wrote a few days ago..they do deliver in all EU countries!

Looked at Seraphine…. not skinny enough!!! Esther, how did you make your own?!?!?!

I bought cheap Topshop jeans. Ultra skinny of course!
    And low-waisted.
I took the waistband off and replaced it with wide elastic band, then covered that up with black stretch tricot (got it at The Cloth House in SoHo – that’s where you got the fabric for your wedding dress, right?).
Basically just like how it’s done with Juicy or Seven pregnancy jeans.
Works quite well, but on me they always kept sagging a bit, but I think that’s in the nature of wearing skinny jeans with no real hips – I have that same problem now that I’m not pregnant!

    Hi there,

So much have the same problem being 6 months pregnant. Threw away already 2 pairs of maternity skinny jeans, one was from topshop (which kept falling of my bum as Esther already noted) and the other one I don’t even remember the brand so bad it was.

I looked at Seraphine and they do now very skinny jeans. I ordered a pair and will let you know how they are!

I found before a pair that was comfortable but not too skinny from J Brand, which was over £200 here in London. But as it is an US brand you can probably find it on the internet and let family bring/sent it over to you.

Love your new website by the way!
