Best of both worlds

At this time of year, I spend, spend, spend on presents and sometimes have a guilty conscience, as a little part of me feels that I am being a bit wasteful. But it is really hard to find beautiful presents that also make you feel like you are supporting a good cause, and there is no point giving something ugly just because it is politically correct!

So I have been doing a bit of research to satisfy both my want to give and my want to support.
One company I particularly liked is called BHOLU. It is based in Australia but sells its products worldwide. It specializes in home furnishings and diaries made out of Australian wool felt that is hand embroidered by a collective of women in Gujarat, India. Check out their kid’s collection- it’s really cute.
The women get a chance for a decent salary and a hope for a better life. My friends and family (and maybe I???) get a beautiful cushion or book. It doesn’t get more fair than that!

Hahaha – look at the stockists: Elias & Grace – who else!

I LOVE everything – so, so pretty. I wish I could go to a shop and buy everything. And I love the fact that there is a story behind it – did you see the pictures of the children in India?
